Beauty All Around

By Elizabeth Hilton - E Hilton Art

Nestled in the Pollinator Garden close to City Hall, where life hums and blooms, stands the Beauty All Around heart — a radiant tribute to nature’s magic and the many stories that lead people to Garden City.

On one side, vivid purple thistle, native to Idaho, bursts from the heart canvas — not only a symbol of resilience, but also a beloved beacon to buzzing bees that call this garden home. The color, deep and regal, invites you to pause and appreciate the small wonders that sustain our world.

Admire the other side of the heart, and you’re greeted by a stunning pair of Western Tanagers perched on a branch. These native birds, often spotted along Garden City’s waterways, represent harmony, companionship, and the natural rhythm of this place we call home.

Flowing around the edges, an aged atlas wraps the sides of the heart like a storybook — pages once turned by travelers now transformed into art. Cities blur together, reflecting the diversity of visitors drawn to Garden City’s charm. Hidden among the winding routes and faded place names is a playful detail: a tiny, mysterious red X, perfectly placed over Boise — a quiet reminder that all roads can lead to something beautiful.

Let this heart be a gentle nudge to look closely — at the thistle, at the birds, at the map — and remember that beauty is truly all around.

With a studio at The CommonWell, Elizabeth Hilton continues to develop diverse uses of mediums and processes that challenge traditional boundaries and engage viewers in a dialogue of visual and contextual complexity.

Meet Our Heart Partner

Garden City has always been a little different in the best way. We’re a city rooted in industry but fueled by creativity. From murals and music to breweries, makers, and the iconic Greenbelt, Garden City thrives on originality, resilience, and connection.

We’re excited to share that Garden City will now be home to two new CBH Hearts Across the Valley art installations—one at River Pointe Park and the other at the end of 41st Street, both along our beautiful Greenbelt. These hearts aren’t just captivating public art—they celebrate who we are.

We take pride in being home to a diverse and dynamic community, where artists, entrepreneurs, neighbors, and nature-lovers shape the rhythm of daily life. These heart installations symbolize that shared spirit and the love we have for this one-of-a-kind place we call home.

Whether you’re out for a bike ride, floating the river, or exploring a new corner of town, we encourage everyone to visit the hearts, snap a photo, and take a moment to appreciate all the creativity and character Garden City offers.
