Beauty All Around
By Elizabeth Hilton - E Hilton Art
Nestled in the Pollinator Garden close to City Hall, where life hums and blooms, stands the Beauty All Around heart — a radiant tribute to nature’s magic and the many stories that lead people to Garden City.
On one side, vivid purple thistle, native to Idaho, bursts from the heart canvas — not only a symbol of resilience, but also a beloved beacon to buzzing bees that call this garden home. The color, deep and regal, invites you to pause and appreciate the small wonders that sustain our world.
Admire the other side of the heart, and you’re greeted by a stunning pair of Western Tanagers perched on a branch. These native birds, often spotted along Garden City’s waterways, represent harmony, companionship, and the natural rhythm of this place we call home.
Flowing around the edges, an aged atlas wraps the sides of the heart like a storybook — pages once turned by travelers now transformed into art. Cities blur together, reflecting the diversity of visitors drawn to Garden City’s charm. Hidden among the winding routes and faded place names is a playful detail: a tiny, mysterious red X, perfectly placed over Boise — a quiet reminder that all roads can lead to something beautiful.
Let this heart be a gentle nudge to look closely — at the thistle, at the birds, at the map — and remember that beauty is truly all around.
