Bursting with color and hometown pride, this heart celebrates the natural beauty found right here in Jerome and across Idaho. Featuring a vibrant butterfly alongside Idaho’s state flower, the Syringa, the design is a joyful reminder to slow down, look around, and appreciate the small, beautiful things that surround us every day.

For the artist, who has called Jerome home her entire life, this heart is also deeply personal. She wanted to give back to the community that raised her while bringing a little more color to the place she loves. By pairing a butterfly commonly seen around Jerome with Idaho’s beloved state flower, she created a piece that feels distinctly local—bright, uplifting, and full of life.

Irelynd Wayment is a high school student who has been drawing and painting for as long as she can remember. She has developed her artistic skills through both school art classes and self-teaching. Irelynd aspires to pursue a college degree in design or digital media. She loves to add some more color into this world.

Established in 1907 and incorporated in 1919, Jerome grew from its agricultural roots to become the county seat and economic center of Jerome County. Agriculture remains an important part of the community’s identity today, alongside a growing mix of manufacturing, retail, service industries, and local businesses.

There’s plenty to experience in and around Jerome, too! Spend time exploring the city’s parks and green spaces, enjoy a picnic or splash pad, discover the character and architectural heritage of downtown, or dive into the area’s local history. Jerome also serves as a great starting point for experiencing the incredible landscapes and recreation of Southern Idaho and the greater Magic Valley.
