About this Initiative
CBH Homes proudly presents CBH Hearts Across the Valley, a groundbreaking community experience celebrating connection across the Treasure Valley & beyond. Beginning in 2025, you’ll be able to explore locally designed hearts created by local artists across 13 cities in Southern Idaho. This is an impactful opportunity to give back to the amazing community we call home–and we’re personally inviting you to be part of it. CBH Hearts Across the Valley celebrates the special connection our communities have in Idaho and will attract visitors, promote and honor businesses and cities, showcase local artists, and encourage friends and families to explore, connect and get outside.

Why Did You Become a Heart Partner?
“Caffè Luciano’s is committed to our community and CBH Hearts Across the Valley is an amazing chance to celebrate local artists with our neighbors and bring awareness to The Waterfront District tucked down in Garden City. The artist Laurel Macdonald was able to really capture the Boise River and kayakers with surfing wave nearby! She was able to bring that same type of design to the front of our heart and paint the vibe of our patio and the river with the foothills. It’s a perfect visual addition for our restaurant.” – Cody, General Manager of Caffè Luciano’s.
Meet the Heart-ist
I live in Boise, Idaho. I grow flowers and vegetables which find their way into my art! I’m happiest when I can work in my garden, cook in my kitchen, and draw and print my art!
I started doing linocuts because they fit into my lifestyle. I love the whole process. First, I draw the radish, garlic, poppy pod, etc., onto the linoleum. Then, I cut it out. All of this I can do at my kitchen table.
Then, I ink up my linocut with an oil-based ink, put a thick Italian paper over it, and put it through the small press that is out in the shed. That’s the whole process. Sometimes, I go back over the image with watercolor, but I love a simple black and white image.
My imagery is usually about nature because that’s my life. I grew up on a farm, and I live on one now. My sense of rootedness and well-being derive from this attachment to the soil I work with.
