The House That She Built: A Free Construction Event for Girls

Girls who love to build, create, and dream big can enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience with CBH Homes. The House That She Built is a free construction event for girls ages 4–15. The event introduces participants to the skills and careers that bring a new home to life.

On October 3, CBH Homes will welcome girls to Wagers Acres in Caldwell, Idaho. Throughout the event, participants will learn directly from talented women who work in the construction industry.

Best of all, girls do not need any previous building experience. Instead, they can simply bring their curiosity, creativity, and excitement to try something new.

A Hands-On Construction Experience for Girls

The House That She Built offers much more than a traditional home site tour. In fact, girls will participate in interactive activities inspired by real homebuilding careers.

Activities will include:

• Painting
• Drawing home plans
• Landscaping
• Measuring
• Touring home sites
• Exploring construction skills
• Learning about careers in homebuilding

After practicing their new skills, participants will put what they learned into action. Together, they will contribute to a special service project.

As a result, girls can build confidence while discovering new interests. Additionally, they can meet inspiring female professionals from their community.

Meet Women in the Construction Industry

Women play important roles throughout the homebuilding process. For example, women work in planning, design, construction, landscaping, sales, and project management.
